West View Water Authority has been in direct communication with Duquesne Light regarding the fire at Brunot Island Monday evening. No contaminant issues have been detected and our water quality remains unaffected. The Neville Island Water Treatment Plant’s intake is below the water surface avoiding any floating debris and our filtration system will remove any sunken debris. Should anything change regarding water quality, we will notify our customers. If you have specific questions related to the Brunot Island Fire, please contact Duquesne light and/or the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
